ER times 2!

A very interesting week to say the least! On Sunday poor Kyle got sick with a flu of some sort. Pure evilness I'm sure. He stood up to go do something and was slammed with a feeling of dizziness and nausea. So he went to bed. Ten minutes later he was throwing up. then ten minutes later he threw up again, etc. So by 8pm he was totally dehydrated and was disoriented because of it. So I called the Urgent care call line and talked to a nurse over the phone. She told me to call 911. Because he was disoriented, she was worried about him being severely dehydrated. So I call 911. When the EMT's get here Kyle stands up (which he shouldn't have) and tells the EMT's to go save lives! He'll have me drive him to the ER. Like they are the only EMT's in all of the Treasure Valley!! So I take him to the ER and barely have any sympathy for him as he sits for an hour in the waiting room. We finally go back and they give him 2 liters of fluid, 2 shots of an anti-nausea, and a shot of a pain med. We finally got home at 2 am. Thank you Gina for adopting my kids that night. So then Tuesday we are going to take the boys to the dollar store to spend some Christmas money. Gavin says his tummy hurts so we have him grab a bucket. Halfway to the dollar store he pukes. Greeeaaat! So I'm gagging the whole way to the urgent care office. We wanted to get all the heads up we could so we wouldn't be taking Gavin into the ER. At the office we are sitting in the room and OOPS Andrew ralphs. Lucky we had the bucket, or it would have been all over the floor. So the Dr. say to take them home and feed them nothing but sips of water and Popsicles. Well by about 8pm they are feeling better but...yup you guessed it!! I was feeling nauseated. Now this must have been one of those bugs that hits adults a lot worse than kids. Mainly because the boys both threw up a couple of times and felt better. Whereas Kyle and I were miserable. So I get feeling nauseated so I lay down and take sips of water and try not to move to much. Well by 11pm I am trying not to cuss. I was have abdominal cramps that felt like labor pains! So Kyle calls the urgent care nurse after a few hours of me being really sick and she says the same thing to him as they said to me. Call 911. Now after explaining to Kyle that there are more than one pair of EMT's in Nampa, I told him I was taking the ambulance because I was not going to sit in the waiting room of the ER with cramps and vomiting and diarrhea. No Thank You!! So he took the boys to Gina's AGAIN (again thank you Gina for adopting my kids), and drove to the ER. I was hooked up to an IV en route and was taken right in to the ER. They ended up giving me 2 liters of fluid, 1 shot anti-nausea, 2 shots pain meds, and 1 shot pain and anti-anxiety. We finally got home at 6am...Now that it is Thursday I have to say it was a very unexpected week. Let's not have it happen again ANY time soon.
